Delete your account
Last updated 17 September 2026
This page explains how to delete your OffshoreCast account and the data tied to it. OffshoreCast is published by Mitux LLC (California). You can use OffshoreCast without an account; if you created one, you can delete it at any time.
Delete it in the app
- Open OffshoreCast on your device.
- Go to Settings.
- Open your account (the section showing the email or Apple sign-in you used).
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete permanently.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you only want to keep your spots on this device, sign out instead of deleting.
If you can’t open the app
Lost the device, or removed the app already? Email [email protected] from the email address tied to your account (or, for Sign in with Apple, the address you use with Apple) and ask us to delete your account. We reply within two business days and complete the deletion promptly after we confirm it is your account.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes, across all of your devices:
- Your account and how you sign in — your email address (email sign-in) or the Apple identifier and relay address (Sign in with Apple), and any stored password hash.
- Every fishing spot synced to your account (its name and coordinates).
- The alert rules attached to those spots (your thresholds and official-warning preference).
- All sign-in sessions — you are signed out on every device.
What is kept, and for how long
- The app keeps working without an account. Each device keeps its own local record — a random, app-generated device ID (not your advertising identifier), your language, units and boat-profile settings, and, if you had alerts on, a push-notification token. This record is not part of your account and holds no email or identity; it stays on that device and on our server, unlinked from you, until you delete the app. Turning off alerts removes the push token.
- Spots saved on a device but never synced to the account stay on that device and are removed when you delete the app.
- Server logs store only coordinates truncated to about 0.1° (≈ 11 km), which are not linked to you.
- Retention. Account data is removed from our live systems immediately. Any residual copies in routine encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days.
